Kanha being situated in Central India is subjected to tropical monsoonal climate. The month of January may also witness sub-zero temperatures and frost. Monsoon arrives in the second week of June.
The Park is usually open for tourist from 15th of October to 30th of June. Due to hot weather
during summer season in the month of April, May and June some people prefer to visit during the
months of October to March while some prefer peak summers as they believe that chances of
Tiger sightings near water bodies increases. However, because of its good ratio of Tiger sightings
for entire season, the reserve remains packed practically for almost entire tourist season. Since
the safari bookings are done online and booked well in advance, planning your trip well in advance
is strongly recommended.
